There are certain stories that stick with you, certain scenes that scar. This story about the underground world of women’s wrestling, backlit by the violent Detroit Riots, is full of such cutting scenes. But the thing about this short story (published in the online literary journal The Hell Gate Review and nominated for the Pushcart Prize) that won’t let you go is the last frame. Just try to shake free of Beautiful’s final words, see if you don’t succumb.
