Chad Pelley, Away From Everywhere (Breakwater Books), 2009.

Chad Pelley’s new novel is a beautiful bruising experience. This novel makes you feel for the main character Owen so much that you ache to see him walk, stagger, or crash into his next mistake. But though Owen is a very afflicted character, the reader doesn’t feel afflicted. There is humor in these pages as well as tragedy and deep humanity, all tied together with great storytelling. Read it. Tell your friends to read it.
